FAQ
- Do I need to create an account?
- No. You can start designing right away in guest mode, no signup required.
- What do I export?
- TTF, OTF, or WOFF, all installable and usable in any other design tool.
- How much can I do without an account?
- Guests can build one typeface, saved locally in your browser, and export it up to three times. Create a free account to save more typefaces and sync them to the cloud.
- Does ModFont need a specific browser?
- Drawing, previewing, and exporting a font doesn't need WebGL. The animated hero background and the in-editor 3D preview effect do, and both fall back gracefully when it isn't available.
- Do I need an API key to use AI generation?
- Only if you want an AI generated starting point. Bring your own key from a supported provider. Drawing everything by hand needs nothing extra.
- Is ModFont free?
- Yes. ModFont is free to use. Supporting the project is entirely optional, through a small contribution.
- What happens to my guest typeface if I switch devices?
- It's stored locally in your browser, so it won't follow you to a new device or browser. Create a free account to save it to the cloud instead.
